Thank you for your enquiry regarding catering for your function at Encores Restaurant. As recent Winners of the Restaurant and Caterers’ Industry Awards for “Venue Caterer”, we believe we can meet your needs with our personalised menus and service. As modern trends are moving away from the function centre catering to more restaurant styles, we believe the advantages of choosing a restaurant like Encores for your catering includes top quality restaurant meals, stylish, more intimate atmosphere and a greater chance of securing the date you require.
Encores Restaurant opened in March 2005 as part of the Empire Theatre Centenary Conference Precinct. Encores is a contemporary, state of the art facility, with lounge bar and private dining room. The fittings are of the finest quality, from our Villeroy and Boch crockery to white linen tablecloths and napkins. Encores can cater for a variety of function styles, be it a fun cocktail party, wedding reception or a function with the atmosphere of a large dinner party.
The restaurant in total seats approximately 100 people, with the private dining room catering for small groups of up to 30 people, this makes it ideal for meetings and private functions. Within the Empire Theatre, there are further options for catering with rooms for 40 people. The Wesley church seat up to 200 people and the Empire Theatre stage caters for groups up to 360. Areas within the Empire Theatre do attract room hire charges.
Below is a sample menu to give you an idea of the type of food we produce. This menu is a sample only, as we specialise in discussing your needs and then designing a menu to suit your function and budget. However, please keep in mind that it is difficult to confirm prices more than 6 months in advance, so please use this sample menu as a guide. Once the booking is confirmed however, the quoted price will be fixed.

Fresh seafood plate with ocean king prawns, smoked salmon, and crab and mint salad

Individual lamb Wellingtons with bacon, mushroom and port wine jus

Chicken breast supreme pocketed with prosciutto and double brie, and tomato hollandaise

Individual wild berry pavlova stacks with double cream and soft meringue

White chocolate, macadamia and caramel tart with Kahlua cream
This type of menu is available from $58.00 per person.
Issues to consider when booking your function
at Encores Restaurant
- Room hire charge to book out the restaurant for your function: $450.00. To book out the whole restaurant, we require a minimum of 70 people. Numbers less than this may incur a further charge, as negotiated with Encores.
- Our function quote is totally inclusive, including food, bar staffing and set up of the restaurant for your function, with the function timed to last for approximately 6 hours.
- Liquor license and close of venue is strictly 12 midnight.
- With current laws, the Empire Theatre venue, including the restaurant is non-smoking.
- Final numbers are required one week prior to function.
- Deposit and payment terms:
- A 10% deposit is required with confirmation of booking.
- A further 40% deposit is requested with confirmation of numbers, one week before your function.
- Balance of payment is to be settled at conclusion of your function, unless prior arrangement has been made with the restaurant.
- Direct credit facilities are available for payment. Alternatively, we accept master card and visa card.
- Cancellation Policy
The 10% deposit is non refundable if there is a cancellation. If you cancel within 48 hours of your function date, the 40% deposit is also non refundable, unless we are able to resell the venue. This deposit will cover the costs we have already incurred in preparation for your function.
- Special dietary requirements can be catered for. Please let us know in advance if possible.
- Damage above and beyond the normal wear and tear to the restaurant and its contents must be paid for.
